Left: 3D CAD Model Design and Development Case Study 1 - Fast Potentiometer Rotary Assembly MachineThe system automatically assembles and tests Linear Potentiometers for the Automotive Industry, producing over 10000 per day....... faster than other associated equipment in the plant. The technical challenge for this project was to design a machine that could automatically assemble six parts and incorporate a number of diverse processes. These included ultra sonic welding, hot staking, resistance welding, spring detangling and feeding, seal forming and load cell testing. Added to this complexity was the need to have the machine on as small a foot print as possible. The resultant machine was based upon a 16-station rotary table. The above 3D CAD model shows the machine at concept stage.
Case Study 2 - Surface Mount IC Test Handlers | Machine videoChess Systems has recently populated an entire floor in Singapore with nine Surface Mount IC Test Handlers. The solution is a dedicated tray-to-tray handler specifically designed to meet the needs of high volume electrical and optical component testing. The devices are either CMOS or CCD image sensors. The test site accommodates the necessary optical components such as the light source and diffuser to enable precise and controlled optical test conditions to be maintained.
